There are SOOOOOO many talented photographers these days! As you assess your options, think through these key factors.

STYLE: Style is big! When we talk about style, we are talking about the different posing/candid nature that photographers use as well as the carefully crafted editing style that they implement. We highly recommend taking the time to look through Facebook, Instagram, and full blog posts on photographer’s websites to get a well rounded idea of their style and consistency with style. You’ll be able to see if the photographer poses their clients more frequently, or if they use a more candid photo journalistic approach. You will also be able to see if the few key photos they share on social media match the full body of work within a blog post.

Get to know your prospective photographer’s style by stalking their blog, Facebook, and Instagram! You’ll want to be sure to see all the parts of the day that they display so you can get a feel of the type of collection you will receive.

BUDGET & VALUE: Every photographer will be only too happy to tell you that your wedding photos are an investment, and we couldn’t agree more! As you set your budget, we invite you to keep in mind the value that you are placing on photography as well as the other items within your budget. If you are placing a high value and importance on your wedding photos, your budget will need to reflect that.

Another thing to keep in mind is the value that each photographer puts on the services that they are providing and along those lines the prices that their wedding collections are set at. Each photographer has a different value line, which means pricing will differ from photographer to photographer.

Your style preferences will help guide you to specific photographers, and the value that you place on photography will help you to assess if those photographers will be a good fit with the budget that you have set.

PERSONALITY: You are going to be spending a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day, take some time to grab coffee with your photographer and get to know if their personality will be a good fit. Some couples will be secure in their posing, while others will require more guidance – along the same lines, some photographers will direct a lot and others a little.

And keeping it real and letting our couples relax and enjoy each others company creates the more candid romantic look that we strive for. We specialize first and foremost in Bride and Groom portraits alongside of the story of the day.

BUDGET & VALUE: We set a high value on the service that we provide to our couples. And to that end, we take a limited number of clients per year to ensure that we are able to get to know and tailor our service to each of our couples. Other factors that we take into account are eight years of experience in the wedding industry, equipment and backup equipment, full editing/studio/lighting training from a professional studio… We won’t bore you with the full list behind our pricing, but we will say this, we expect a lot for our couples, and want nothing but the best for them which is why we assign such a high value to photography!
